Sub: Introduction of uniform office time in accounts division regarding.

Respected Sir,
With reference to the above subject we may invite your kind attention that the Accounts Division has arranged a meeting of staff members on 2nd Dec, 2019 to ascertain the details of staff who are attending in different shifts. It is found that about 60% of staff members of Accounts Division are attending in Mid General shift. It is also stated that in order to ensure effective functioning of Accounts Division the uniform timing is being planned. The staff members are offered full cooperation for effective functioning of Accounts Division in existing system of different shifts. However the officials are informed that changes if any will be affected with the approval of Controller BARC.

It is surprised to note that on 3rd Dec a circular has issued to all staff members asking them to attend the office in mid general shift from 9th Dec 2019. However it is to appreciate that a provision is given to those employees (10%) who faced hardship because of changing shift that such employees should make a representation to continue in a present shift.

This union would like to bring your notice that the accounts division is functioning with less man power and without any support of work assistants. Majority of staff members are female employees and they have structured arrangements at both family and office. There is a prepaid arrangement of bus service in their respective shifts and it will
disturb in new pattern of shifts. It will be difficult to arrange bus services only for one division since the commuters in each route will be limited. These changes will induce new stress to the employees who forced to change the present duty timing. We are still not recovered from the sad and sudden demises of two employees who were working in central complex. We are in a firm view that the effectiveness of functioning will be better when staff members are working in a stress free atmosphere.

In the light of above we request you to kindly maintain the status co of shift pattern prevailing in Accounts Division.

Thanking you,
Yours faithfully,

A.Sreedharan
