Sub: Clarification regarding deployment of staff for election duty.

Sir,

            With reference to the above circular we would like to invite your kind attention to the Queries and Clarifications Sr. No. 1 and 4 that it states the compensatory off cannot be granted as they have been paid remuneration for the training days. In this connection we would like to invite your attention further that the OM issued by the DoPT no. 28016/02/2007-Estt.(A) dt. 13/04/2012 (Copy Attached) clarifies that how to allow compensatory off to the polling staff that perform duty in the polling process including training. The para. no. 2 of the above OM state “Necessary instructions already exist for grant of compensatory leave for performance of official duty during Saturdays/Sundays/holidays under note below rule 22 of CCS(Leave) rules, 1972.”

In the light of above all the staff members who participated in the Election Training Programme/Election duty (Sr.No.1 & 4) are eligible to get compensatory off. It is therefore request you kindly give necessary instructions to all the divisions to sanction Compensatory off in the above mentioned days.
