Enquiry of Social worker after the sad demise of an employee reg:

To
The Director BARC,
Central Complex, BARC,
Mumbai 400085.

Respected Sir,

Sub : Enquiry of Social worker after the sad demise of an employee reg:

It was come to the notice of this Union that, the Social worker of BARC Hospital used to visit the homes of a demised employee within a week cross questioning them and asking them to visit Social worker at hospital next day. In certain cases, though the family tried to convince them that, as per the Hindu belief, the wife can go out only after 13 days after the rituals are over, but they were not ready to listen. They were called to meet Social worker urgently on the next day and asked many questions which they were not comfortable to answer because they were not relieved off from the depth of the grief. They were also compelled to bring certain certificates and documents immediately with a supercilious approach.

Hence we suggests that, such an approach should be avoided, if any such inquiry or interviews may be done, the same may be done only after the relieving period and the social worker have to earn their confidence instead of using a harassing or threatening language.  We suggests that any such inquiries may be done in the presence of their relatives or friends rather than calling the spouse alone.

This is for your kind information and further action please.

Thanking you,
                                                                                                            Yours Faithfully
